About the event

The 3rd Annual Jamie & Tara Golf Tournament will take place on June 20, 2026, at Heritage Country Club. This special charity event brings together family, friends, golfers, and community members for a day of fun, generosity, and support for an important cause.

The tournament will feature a full day of golf along with games, raffles, prizes, and a steak dinner for all participants. All proceeds from the event will benefit Erika's Lighthouse, helping raise awareness and support for teen mental health.

Jamie, an Assistant Principal at Tantasqua Regional High School, and Tara, a math teacher at the same school, are organizing the event as part of their fundraising efforts while training to complete two major international races — the Sydney Marathon in 2026 and the Tokyo Marathon in 2027. Working closely with students every day, they care deeply about student mental health and are passionate about supporting programs and resources that help young people thrive.

Hosted at the beautiful Heritage Country Club, the tournament promises a memorable day of golf, great food, entertainment, and charitable giving for everyone involved.

Spring means new things for everyone, we hope your business is thriving and growing more each day just like spring flowers and blooms! We are also in the process of growing and reaching for new heights, which is why we write to you today to support our mission to help Erika’s Lighthouse by attending the Annual Golf Tournament on June 20th at the Heritage Country Club.

    This tournament supports mental health awareness and treatment, a mission central to the work of Erika’s Lighthouse. We are running for them this year; flying all the way to Sydney Australia to run for this amazing cause. Running has always been the place where we both decompress, release stress, grow our friendship, and achieve something unusual and distinct. This sense of accomplishment, camaraderie, strength and achievement is at the core of what Erika’s Lighthouse seeks to help those who struggle with their mental health.

    Tara & Jamie - that’s us - have been running together for many years! We are educators and work with teenagers at Tantasqua High School. Each and every day we see how the young people of our community struggle with their mental health. Tara is a high school math teacher and the girls Varsity soccer coach. Jamie is an Assistant Principal and Vocational Director. Today’s students are facing many challenges both personal and professional as they move into an uncertain future with the advancement of technology. Our work with the young people of this community provides a larger purpose for our running goals. We hope to inspire and support all of our students to take the challenge, push forward, seek great health and achieve more everyday.

    Our running and mental health journey are on a clear path that began when we completed our first marathon in 2023 in Philadelphia. In April 2024, we ran the iconic Boston Marathon, proud and fortunate to join the Bringham and Women’s Hospital Stepping Strong team. After this amazing experience, we decided to pursue all “The Majors” as they call them - the largest 7 marathons on Earth, supporting and funding causes that matter. Since then we have also run the New York City Marathon, the Chicago Marathon, the Berlin Marathon and we hope to make it to Tokyo in March 2027 and London too. But first - Sydney!

Jamie and Tara share a passion for running that has been a major part of their lives for more than 15 years. What began as a shared hobby grew into a lifelong commitment to health, perseverance, friendship, and personal growth. Over the years, running has brought them through countless miles, challenges, and unforgettable experiences together.

Tara’s running journey is especially inspiring. After undergoing major heart surgery, she faced the difficult challenge of recovery and rebuilding her strength. Through determination, resilience, and an unwavering positive mindset, Tara not only returned to running but continued pushing herself toward incredible goals. Her journey serves as a powerful reminder that obstacles can be overcome with courage, support, and persistence.

Together, Jamie and Tara have set their sights on completing the Abbott World Marathon Majors — the seven most prestigious marathons in the world. So far, they have successfully completed the Boston Marathon, New York City Marathon, Berlin Marathon, and Chicago Marathon. Their journey continues as they prepare for the Sydney Marathon and the Tokyo Marathon.

Beyond the races and medals, running has strengthened their bond and inspired those around them. As educators at Tantasqua Regional High School, Jamie and Tara hope their story encourages students and others to believe in themselves, overcome adversity, and pursue goals that once seemed impossible.
